Frequently Asked QuestionsCan I come along and see training in progress?
If the training is at the Adelaide Hills Swimming Centre the answer is yes. This is open from mid Nov to mid March.
If you want to come along in winter, you must contact our Head Coach Pat Wheeler on 0423 520 633 to discuss the steps you need to take before you can join complete a come and try.

Are there any particular conditions on training at the army pool?
All swimmers must be members of the Onkaparinga Swimming Club and have provided all the necessary paperwork before entering the Army base. Whilst very friendly and helpful, the Security Guards at the gate will check you have identification before you are admitted to the base and on the Registration/Membership Army Data Base.
How will my child be inducted into the club. Will he / she be expected to be an accomplished swimmer?
It is recommended that new members first speak with the Head Coach and discuss the squad your child will start in.
Do you have a learn to swim program? Currently No.
Can we start any time in the year?
What are the training fees?
Training Fees can be paid monthly, quarterly or annually. In addition to this, when swimming at the Adelaide Hills Swimming Centre there is an entry fee set by the Adelaide Hills Swimming Centre required for entry.
It is recommended that swimmers training fees are paid by electronic transfer on-line but credit card payments are possible through Team App (although transaction fees apply).

Can we transfer from another club?
This can be applied for on swim central on the Swimming SA website. If transferring to our club your last club will need to release or support your transfer.
What are the ages of your swimmers?
We have swimmers from 6 years to 75+. We welcome all age groups.
Can swimmers who have a disability swim with your club?
Do we have to compete?
The answer is yes. All club swimmers compete is some way and this is with juniors through to Masters members. The entry level competition is Club time trials and Interclub meets in the EDSA district competitions. Most swimmers progress past this entry level and compete in Open Carnivals and Swimming SA series which are held at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre. It is an expectation that all competitive swimmers compete at a minimum of 4 meets per season but recommended approx 8 swim carnivals a year. There is interclub meets to intergrate new members to competition..
Do we have to live at Woodside to join your Club?
No, we have members from Modbury, Gumeracha, Mt. Torrens, Lobethal, Lenswood, Uraidla, Carey Gully, Stirling, Crafters, Mitcham, Bridgewater, Mt. Barker, Littlehampton and Nairne. We attract members from many areas in the Adelaide Hills and Eastern Suburbs from time to time.
